The Fluffer Nutters (Pre-K 2):
We are going to start the month of September by learning about quarters, nickels, dimes, pennies and dollars. Then we will take a look at what we may want to be in the future by learning about occupations. The third week will be a review. During this week, children will be assessed on spelling words that contain the letters a, s, m, and o. The fourth week we will be learning about our state, Tennessee.
The Playful Peanuts (toddlers):
We start out September by talking all about our mommies. We'll talk about each child's mommy and also we'll learn about animal mommies and their babies. Then we'll learn about on and off. We'll turn switches, water faucets, toys, and music on and off. The next week will be a review week where we'll go over all of the sounds and letters that we've learned. We'll finish the month learning about toes. We'll paint with our toes, walk on our tip-toes, and we'll tickle toes. We have a full month ahead ... with this amazing group of kids it's going to be fun!
The Great Grapes (twos):
The Grapes start the month of September having FUN with monsters and the letter M. During the second week, we will focus our lessons around the shape of an octagon and the letter O. We will be reviewing the letters A, S, M, and O during the third week. The fourth week will be spent exploring taste with our tongues and the letter T.
The Whole Grains (twos/threes):
We begin our Spectacular September with music. We will be using different types of instruments during circle and music time. We will make our own shakers. We will then study otters. We will make an otter habitat.The third week will be review of letters A,S,M and O.We will end with the letter T. Our focus will be the letter T. We will be talking about tools. We will be looking at different kinds of tools that are found in a toolbox.
The Boisterous Bananas (threes):
This school year has gotten off to a great start. I am so excited to have the opportunity to teach the Bananas class this year! This month we will be learning the letters m, o and t. Our themes will be magnets, octopus and turtles. We will also continue to work on recognizing and learning to write our names and touch math principles. During this month the children will be assessed on all the material we have covered so far.
The Smiling Strawberries (Pre-K 1):
In September, the Strawberries will learn the letters Mm, Oo and Tt. We will study maps, ostriches and teeth. We will make feather collages at our art center, and learn a song about a funny ostrich titled Katalina Matalina. In science class, we will discover how plaque affects teeth. We will use vinegar and an egg shell to demonstrate this idea for the students. We will also learn the song, This Is The Way We Brush our Teeth. The students will talk about their favorite healthy foods and how eating the right foods can keep our teeth healthy. In math, we will be graphing and working on number recognition and quantifying. In social studies we will be exploring maps and talking about how we use maps in our everyday life. We will make a map of our classroom and practice reading it.
